Duties of the Chairman of the Commune Fatherland Front Committee

The Lao Dong Newspaper Legal Consulting Office replied:

Clause 7, Article 9, Decree 33/2023/ND-CP The Chairman of the Commune Fatherland Front Committee directs and together with members of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee at the commune level to carry out the following tasks:

a) Convene and chair conferences and meetings of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee at the commune level;

b) Organize the implementation of resolutions and programs to coordinate and unify the annual and six -month actions of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee for its grant and of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; guidelines and policies of the Party, the provisions of the law and resolutions of the People's Council, the decision of the People's Committee related to the tasks and powers of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune;

c) Regularly collect opinions and recommendations from voters and people to reflect and recommend to Party committees, authorities, and the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee at higher levels;

d) giving comments and recommendations to Party committees and authorities at the same level on the implementation of policies and laws at the local level; implementing legal provisions on grassroots democracy, fighting against bureaucracy, corruption, waste, and social evils; supervising the activities of state agencies, cadres and civil servants according to the provisions of the Party and the law;

d) Organize the implementation of patriotic emulation movements and movements among the people; Front tasks participate in building and strengthening the government; protect the legitimate rights and interests of the people; supervise activities of state agencies, National Assembly deputies, People's Council deputies at all levels and cadres, civil servants and officials; implementing the law on the implementation of democracy at the grassroots level; participate in settlement of local complaints and denunciations;

e) Direct and guide the activities of the Front Work Committee, the People's Inspectorate, and the Community Investment Supervision Board;

g) Maintain cooperative relationships with authorities and member organizations at the same level;

h) Guidelines for the activities of consulting organizations and collaborators of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee at the commune level;

i) Direct the development and promulgation of decisions and regulations on coordination of work of its organization and organize the implementation of those documents;

k) Convene and chair conferences and meetings of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee at the commune level; direct the development of funding plans, implementation, settlement of operating expenses and decide on the allocation of operating expenses provided by the State to its organization;

l) Consider and decide on rewards and discipline according to authority;

m) Other tasks as prescribed by the Party, relevant laws, regulations of central socio-political organizations and competent authorities to manage cadres.

Thus, the Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune has the above tasks.
