Cases of civil servants disciplined with reprimand from July 2025

The Lao Dong Newspaper Legal Consulting Office replied:

Article 8 of Decree 172/2025/ND-CP regulating disciplinary action against cadres and civil servants (effective from July 1, 2025) stipulates the application of disciplinary reprimand for cadres and civil servants as follows:

The form of disciplinary reprimand applies to cadres and civil servants who commit first-time violations and cause less serious consequences, except for violations specified in Clause 3, Article 9 of this Decree, in one of the following cases:

1. Violating regulations on the duties of cadres and civil servants; things that cadres and civil servants are not allowed to do; violating public ethics, communication culture at the office, communication with the People; violating internal rules and regulations of agencies, organizations and units.

2. Violating the provisions of law on: crime prevention and control; prevention and control of social evils; social order and safety; corruption prevention and control; practicing thrift and fighting waste.

3. Violating regulations on: democratic centralism regulations; propaganda, speech; internal political protection.

4. Violating the provisions of law on: investment, construction; land, environmental resources; finance, accounting, banking; management and use of State and People's assets in violation of regulations.

5. Violating other regulations of the Party and of the law related to cadres and civil servants.

Thus, from July 1, 2025, civil servants who violate the above acts will be subject to disciplinary reprimand.
