What policies do boarding students in ethnic minority areas enjoy?

Clauses 1, 2, Article 6 of Decree 66/2026/ND-CP Regulating policies for nursery children, students, trainees in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, coastal and island areas and educational institutions with nursery children and students enjoying policies (effective from May 1, 2026), stipulate as follows:

1. Policies for semi-boarding nursery children

Lunch allowance support: Each kindergarten child is supported with 360,000 VND per month and receives no more than 9 months/school year.

2. Policies for boarding students and semi-boarding students

a) Food allowance: Each student and trainee is supported with 936,000 VND per month and receives no more than 9 months/school year;

b) Housing support: Each boarding student, boarding student must provide accommodation themselves because the school cannot arrange accommodation in the school or 1st, 2nd grade students, disabled students who need to provide accommodation near the school for relatives to take care of, each month will be supported with 360,000 VND and will receive no more than 9 months/school year;

c) Rice support: Each student and trainee is supported with 15 kg of rice per month and receives no more than 9 months/school year;

d) Grade 1 boarding students who are ethnic minorities who have learned Vietnamese before entering the grade 1 program are entitled to an additional 01 month of the policies specified in points a, b, c, clause 2 of this Article.

Thus, from May 1, 2026, policies for semi-boarding nurseries children and semi-boarding students in ethnic minority and mountainous areas will be implemented according to the above regulations.
