Pannical information, thinning official information
The speed of spreading false information has never been as fast and dangerous as it is now. The press and authorities have had to continuously warn: A series of images and videos of " breakdown of dams", " releasing 3.5m floodwaters", "hundreds of dead people hiding", "rescue and abandonment of the people" ... are being created with AI technology, then posted online with irritating words.
The Cyber Security Department and specialized units have confirmed: This is a counterfeit, deliberate product, designed to cause panic, reduce legitimate information, make people misunderstand the nature of the incident and suspect the efforts of the authorities to save people.
The people behind are not unintentional. They deliberately choose the right time when floodwaters rise to spread fake news, taking advantage of people's worried psychology to increase disbelief. Fake news in natural disasters not only sabotages rescue work but can also kill people. Just fabricated information about "dams collapsing" and "water about to collapse" has caused many families to run away at night, causing chaos and accidents. The fact that Khanh Hoa Police have had to handle a series of cases of spreading fabricated rumors about dike and lake breaches in recent days is the clearest proof of the dangers of this type of news.
The nature of the fake news campaign is not a "individual mistake", but an organized plot. Reacting accounts abroad... have prepared distorted content early, just waiting for the flood to follow the same mold: First is inflating damage, then distorting the " helpless" government, "leaving the people behind", then gradually raising it to the level of slander with the intention of "the whole system does not care about people's lives". When rescue forces wade in floodwaters, they called it an act. When the Government leaders directly went to the area to check, they distorted that "it was late to hit the ball". When the State mobilized the emergency support budget, they changed their tone to slander, saying "it is not transparent".
Not only that, they also spread the idea of dividing the region: one province is being given relief, the other is being "abandoned", one area is being cared for, the other is being "sacrificed". This is an extremely dangerous trick to break the spirit of solidarity - the core value that helps Vietnamese people overcome natural disasters for generations.
Beware of fake news to protect yourself and the community
But reality has refuted everything. During the days of severe floods, from the central to local levels, the entire political system took urgent and drastic action. The Government continuously issued telegrams to direct natural disaster response; leaders of ministries, branches and provinces and cities went to the scene to inspect and direct rescue; tens of thousands of police and military officers and soldiers were mobilized with specialized vehicles, motorboats, water swimmers, and medical equipment to be present at hot spots in a timely manner.
The images of police officers carrying each elderly person through the rushing water, soldiers pulling ropes to save people at night, forces supplying hundreds of tons of necessities to deeply flooded areas, or volunteer groups stretching across the Central region, are the clearest and most accurate answers to any distorted luan.
A State that lefts the people behind will not be able to immediately mobilize thousands of officers and soldiers to be on duty 24/7 at dangerous points. An "irresponsible" government will not be able to issue a series of decisions to support the budget of thousands of billions of VND in just a few days to overcome the consequences of natural disasters. An un steady system will not be able to race every minute to bring each citizen to safety, ready to sacrifice to protect peoples lives. The truth that is happening every day in flooded areas has exposed the fabricated and evil nature of the anti- sabotage arguments.
The war against floods is a war against nature, but the war against fake and distorted news is a war to protect the truth and protect the people's hearts. If toxic information is allowed to dominate, people's trust will be eroded, consensus will be divided. Any natural disaster will eventually pass, but the "man-ears" of agitation and division can leave long-term consequences, especially when hostile forces are trying every way to sabotage the preparation process for the 14th National Party Congress.
In that context, each citizen needs to clearly recognize: Being vigilant against fake news is not only to protect yourself, but also a responsibility to the community. Every time they share the truth, they can have consequences. Every baseless comment can help the bad guys. Providing caution, caution, and verifying information before spreading is the most practical act of patriotism at this time.
While the people of the Central - Central Highlands are struggling to overcome disaster, the most important thing is solidarity, maintaining faith, and being united with the State and frontline forces. Only the truth, alertness and sense of responsibility can stop the "poison" flowing in cyberspace. Beware of the distorted plot in natural disasters, which is to protect the people, protect social stability and protect the country in the current challenging period.
