On September 24, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, a representative of Nghe An Department of Education and Training said that the unit had issued instructions to rectify and thoroughly grasp the whole industry on ensuring the quality of boarding meals for students.
"The industry's viewpoint is that boarding meals must ensure food hygiene and safety, ensure adequate nutrition, and at the same time encourage organizations and individuals to sponsor and support boarding meals for students. Strictly prohibit and thoroughly handle negative behaviors, reduce the portion sizes of boarding students affirmed a representative of the Nghe An Department of Education and Training.
Previously, at the beginning of the new school year, public opinion reflected the situation of some boarding schools in mountainous, highland and remote areas of Nghe An showing signs of reducing food rations, causing public outrage.
From this reality, some localities have organized surprise inspections, rectification and reminders to schools about the shortcomings and shortcomings in organizing boarding meals for students.
A leader of Tuong Duong commune (Nghe An) emphasized that the local government does not cover up or condone the act of cutting down on students' food rations. "If there is a basis, we will handle it strictly according to regulations" - this person said.
It is known that according to regulations, students of ethnic minority boarding schools are currently supported with a diet of 936 thousand VND/month.
