Article 39 of the 2015 Law on Military Service stipulates the duties of the Commune-level Military Service Council as follows:
1. Assist the People's Committee at the commune level in organizing propaganda and dissemination of laws on military service; organize for citizens to register for military service and have health check-ups.
2. Report to the People's Committee at the commune level and the Military Service Council at the district level the list of citizens who are called up for military service, temporarily deferred from military service, exempted from military service and performing the obligation to join the People's Public Security.
3. Organize citizens to carry out the call-up order and perform the obligation to join the People's Public Security; the call-up order for training, drills, and orders to inspect mobilization readiness and combat readiness.
4. Assist the People's Committee at the commune level in inspecting and guiding relevant agencies and organizations in implementing military rear policies and managing citizens subject to military service in the locality.
5. Assist the Chairman of the People's Committee at the commune level in reviewing and resolving complaints and denunciations in the implementation of laws on military service.
Thus, the tasks of the Commune-level Military Service Council are prescribed as above.
