From August 2026, civil servants will be temporarily suspended from work based on the following 6 grounds

Clause 1, Article 26 of Decree 300/2026/ND-CP (effective from August 1, 2026) supplements Article 56 of Decree No. 170/2025/ND-CR stipulating cases of temporary suspension from work for civil servants as follows:

1. Basis for implementing temporary suspension of work for civil servants:

a) Having acts of violating moral qualities and lifestyles that cause negative impacts and public outrage, adversely affecting the reputation of organizations and individuals;

b) Deliberately delaying, shirking, evading responsibility, not performing work under their authority according to assigned functions and tasks;

c) Having acts of harassment, negativity, causing trouble to people, businesses, agencies, and organizations in the process of performing official duties;

d) Being being considered and disciplined but intentionally delaying, evading and failing to implement the requests of competent authorities in the process of considering and handling violations of themselves or taking advantage of their positions, powers, and influence of others to influence and cause difficulties for consideration and handling;

e) Being disciplined by the Party in the form of warning or dismissal and being in the waiting period for consideration and handling of government positions that if they continue to work, will negatively affect the activities of Party committees, Party organizations, agencies, organizations, and units;

e) Other cases as prescribed by law or at the request of competent authorities.

Thus, from August 1, 2026, civil servants will be temporarily suspended from work in cases according to the above regulations.
