On the morning of May 27, nearly 24,000 candidates in Lao Cai officially entered the 10th grade high school entrance exam for the 2026 - 2027 school year with the first exam subject being Literature.
The exam takes place from May 27 - 29, 2026. On the first exam day, in the morning, candidates take the Literature exam in essay form, time 120 minutes; in the afternoon, they take the English or Chinese exam in multiple-choice form, time 60 minutes.
On May 28, candidates continued to take the Math exam in multiple-choice format with a test time of 90 minutes.
