At the University of Economics and Law (Ho Chi Minh City National University), Master Cu Xuan Tien - Head of the Admissions and Student Affairs Department, University of Economics and Law, assessed that the results of this year's high school graduation exam have many fluctuations.
In general, the average score of most subjects decreased significantly compared to last year. Average Math scores decreased sharply, the number of candidates below average was quite large, while the number of candidates achieving 7 or more points was only about 12%.
In English, the number of tests with more than 7 points has decreased compared to 2024, accounting for about 15%, the number of tests with absolute scores has also decreased.
From there, Mr. Tien predicted that the benchmark scores based on the graduation exam results of majors using Math and English scores will decrease more sharply than the remaining combinations.
He predicted that the benchmark scores of the University of Economics and Law this year will decrease by about 0.5 - 1.5 points compared to last year, depending on the major.
Hot majors such as International Business, E-commerce, International Economics, Marketing, Economic Law often have a high level of competition, attracting many candidates, so the benchmark score can be lower than the above level or kept unchanged.
Last year, the benchmark score for the International Economics major at the University of Economics and Law based on high school graduation exam scores was 26.55 points.

For the National Economics University, after analyzing the common scores of subjects and the general score for the 2025 high school graduation exam, Dr. Le Anh Duc - Head of the Department of Training Management, National Economics University - commented that the average score of candidates in the 5 traditional university admission groups decreased by 0.8 - 2.1 compared to 2024, especially in groups with Math and English.
Therefore, Mr. Duc predicts the general decrease to be around 2 - 3 points.
The National Economics University alone expects that the admission scores for majors this year may be lower than in 2024, depending on the major group/training program, it may be 1-2 points lower, said Dr. Le Anh Duc.
Last year, the admission score for the International Economics major was 27.54 points (up to 30 points).
