According to the enrollment plan of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, it is expected that before 4:00 p.m. on May 14, the Department of Education and Training will announce the initial wish registration data. From here, parents and students will know the admission rate for each public high school this year and can make adjustments if needed.
The expected time for wish adjustment is from 5:00 p.m. on May 14 to before 5:00 p.m. on May 19.
Note, students are only allowed to change their wishes and are not allowed to add or remove their names from the registration list.
Previously, from May 2-10, the online wish registration portal at http://ts10.hcm.edu.vn was opened for students to register.
This year, each student will have a maximum of 8 10th grade wishes. Of which, there are 3 regular 10th grade wishes, 2 specialized 10th grade wishes and 3 integrated 10th grade wishes.
In the 2025 - 2026 school year, the total enrollment target of public high schools in the city is more than 70,000, reaching a rate of 79% compared to the number of students expected to graduate from grade 9 of more than 88,000.
The 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City will take place on June 6 and 7. Candidates will take 3 subjects: Math, Literature (120 minutes/subject) and Foreign Language (90 minutes, according to foreign language 1 being studied at school). Candidates who register for a specialized school or integrated class will take an additional exam in a specialized subject or equivalent integrated (150 minutes).
This year, depending on the number of actual records and the needs of the schools, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City will consider additional admissions to high schools that still lack many targets.
In 2024, Nguyen Huu Huan High School had the highest admission rate of 1/3.22. Following are Ho Thi Bi High School and Nguyen Thuong Hien High School with the fighting rates of 1/3.06 and 1/2.81, respectively.
In addition, some other schools have relatively high fighting rates such as Le Quy Don High School (1/2.63); Pham Van Sang High School (1/2.60); Gia Dinh High School (1/2.42); Practice High School - Pedagogical University (1/27); Nguyen Huu Tien High School (1/2.36); Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School (1/2.35); Binh Hung Hoa High School (1/2.33); Bui Thi Xuan High School (1/2-19); Mac Dinh Chi High School (1/22); Tran Phu High School (1/2.07); Phu Nhuan High School (1/2.05); Thanh Loc High School (1/2.03).
