Prime Minister's directive on teacher staffing and summer vacation for students
Facing the situation of the whole country lacking about 120,000 teachers, the Prime Minister signed a electricity 61/CD-TTg dated 10.5.2025, requesting the Ministry of Education and Training to coordinate with the Ministry of Home Affairs to examine and urge the recruitment of teachers according to the assigned payroll, propose additional payrolls, ensure that there are teachers in class, not to let the lack of teachers affect the learning of students.
Provinces and cities are required to proactively review and regulate teachers between regions to overcome local surplus and shortage, and can be seconded, inter-school teaching or signing teaching contracts. In the long term, there needs to be a policy to attract and retain teachers and develop quality teams, attached to the locality.
