According to data from Box Office Vietnam, just two days after its release (as of April 25), the movie "Hero" grossed 6.5 billion VND. Currently, on April 25 alone (up to now), the movie grossed 3.5 billion VND, temporarily leading the box office before the movies "Phí phông" and "Heo năm móng".
This result is considered a remarkable "comeback", because before that, the box office competition between Vietnamese works was considered quite unpredictable and "Hero" did not have to keep the top 1.
However, the attraction from the name Thai Hoa and the close, emotional content helped "Hero" accelerate and gain an advantage.
In the movie, Thai Hoa plays Hung - a single father working as a taxi driver. This character is caught up in a billion-dong charity scam in the context of his young daughter facing critical condition.
The role continues to show Thai Hoa's strength in everyday characters, rich in inner feelings, both humorous and touching.
Notably, to commemorate the top 1 box office achievement, the crew released an excerpt from "The Fateful Share" - one of the climax scenes of the film. In the film, Hung, along with Tuan (Vo Tan Phat) and Vinh (Doan The Vinh), planned to stage a fake fire to create a "heroic rescue" situation to attract attention on social networks.
However, the plan quickly went out of control when the fake fire became a real incident. In a critical situation, Hung was forced to rush into the sea of fire to rescue Vinh's grandmother (NSUT Le Thien) in front of the crowd. Not stopping there, he continued to return to rescue Vinh himself - who was trapped in the fire he created.
The segment is made with real fire, real setting, and the "bracefulness" of the cast, bringing a realistic and dramatic feeling. This is also a highlight that helps the film score points with the audience in terms of emotions and entertainment elements.
Hero" directed by Vo Thach Thao, produced by Timothy Linh Bui, belongs to the psychological - family genre mixed with touching comedy elements. The work gathers a cast of actors such as Hong Anh, Phuong Thanh and many familiar faces, aiming for a story about family affection, choice and responsibility.
