On September 30, producers CJ HK Entertainment and ProductionQ announced that actor Anh Tu Atus will take on the lead role in the film project "The Devils".
This is a historical horror film with a large investment, inspired by the novel "The Legend of Ly Trieu Truyen" by author Phan Cuong.
In the film, Anh Tu Atus plays the role of Than Duc - a character truyenlized by the people as the "devil prince", a person with half human and half Devil blood. trying his hand at the historical - horror genre for the first time, the actor promises to bring a completely different image compared to previous modern roles. The first image released attracted attention with its masculine appearance and cold demeanor, making the audience look forward to Anh Tu's transformation after a long absence since the movie "Gap lai chi dau" (2024).
Sharing about the project, Anh Tu Atus said: I was attracted as soon as I read the script because the character was both a prince and a demon. This is a difficult role, completely different from my previous images and the first time I have shown a villain on the big screen. I hope the audience will have a new and interesting experience.
Director Tran Huu Tan revealed that the process of selecting actors for "The Devil's Prince" was prolonged, in order to find the face that best matched the original work. Anh Tu was chosen because his demeanor almost matched the character in the novel, along with his ability to get into character and his seriousness at work.
The Devils also marks the first collaboration between CJ HK Entertainment and ProductionQ - a unit that was successful with a series of horror films such as Tet in Hell (2023), The soul Eater (2023) and Cam (2024). The representative CJ HK said that the film script was developed over 5 years with many edits, aiming to cleverly adapt the original work from a massive scale to a film version.
