The most special thing about the production process was that the crew restored a DC-4 aircraft model almost to the true ratio, creating the main setting for most of the scenes.
According to director Ham Tran, the aircraft model is 24 meters long, nearly 4 meters in diameter, designed based on the DC-4 prototype.
In addition to some details such as the wide walkway for easy filming, the entire space always maintains the original spirit, from color, size to structure.
Even the interior such as seats, controls, and cockpits were taken from a real plane of the Special Forces Battalion - Mobile Police Command, transported to Ho Chi Minh City for installation.
Lieutenant Colonel Tran Nam Chung - Director of the People's Public Security Cinema - said: "From the beginning, we determined that the restoration must be the most realistic. All the furniture is taken from real aircraft, each snail, the steering wheel or the pilot's seat is kept intact, to bring the feeling of being on a real flight".

Not only focusing on design, the crew also creates mechanical shaking effects instead of using special effects. A rotary axle system, wheels and lifting tables are installed to make the aircraft cabin able to tilt and vibrate as required. About 10 members supported from the outside to do the rolling, creating a real feeling of vibration.
Director Ham Tran recalled: There was a scene where the plane tilted to one side, we increased the range from 30 to 60 degrees. Sitting in the compartment, it felt like a super-fast mountain resort.
Thanks to the realistic setting, the cast from Thai Hoa, Kaity Nguyen, Vo Dien Gia Huy to Loi Tran all said that they easily get into character, as if they were "transferred back in time" to the post- 1975. Kaity Nguyen shared: When I went up to the room and closed the door, I forgot I was on set. Everything is too much like a real plane, helping the actors live with the character to the fullest".
The film "Death in the air" brings together a large cast such as Thai Hoa, Thanh Son, Kaity Nguyen, Ma Ran Do, Xuan Phuc, Loi Tran... and has achieved a revenue of nearly 200 billion VND.
