After the movie "Red Rain" withdrew from theaters, the situation at the Vietnamese box office has changed. Currently, the leading position belongs to "The War in the Air".
According to statistics as of September 30, "The War in the Air" has achieved a revenue of 171 billion VND, of which on September 30 alone it brought in an additional 1.6 billion VND (up to now). With this achievement, the film affirms its stable appeal, becoming the top choice of domestic audiences at the present time.
In second place is Chainsaw man - the movie: Reze chapter. The famous Japanese animated film adapted from manga quickly created a wave at the box office. On September 30 alone, the film earned 169 million VND, bringing its total revenue to 4.4 billion VND. Although not as outstanding as The War in the Air, this is still a remarkable number, proving the strong attraction of anime films in the Vietnamese market.
Ranked third is Battle After War - an action film from Hollywood. The work currently has a revenue of 1.8 billion VND, and on September 30 alone, it recorded more than 31 million VND. Although not too explosive, the film still maintains a stable audience thanks to its global brand and dramatic action elements.
In addition, some other foreign films that need to be mentioned include: BTS 2016 Live The Most Beautiful moment In Life On Stage: Epilogue Remastered, The Last Ceremony, The Endless Station... also taking high positions on the Vietnamese cinema chart.
Meanwhile, The Sea of the Sea - a horror film that was originally aimed at a group of young audiences who loved the thrilling, thrilling genre - currently earned about 1.4 billion VND. On September 30, the film only earned an additional 20 million VND.
It can be seen that after the withdrawal of "Red Rain", the Vietnamese box office is witnessing the dominance of foreign films. International projects, from action, animation to horror, are all released in large quantities, while Vietnamese films are absent.
In the coming time, the market will continue to welcome a series of big works from Hollywood and Japan, promising to have fierce competition. The problem for Vietnamese films is not only the quality of the script and the special effects, but also the promotion strategy, creating a spillover effect to maintain a foothold at home.
