According to YG Entertainment, Baby Monster's official YouTube channel reached 13 million subscribers.
The achievement was set about two years and four months after the group officially debuted in April 2024. Previously, Baby Monster only took one year and five months to attract 10 million subscribers. This is introduced as the shortest time for a Kpop girl group.
With the new results, Baby Monster is currently ranked third in the number of YouTube subscribers among Kpop girl groups, after Blackpink and Twice.
Not only increasing rapidly in the number of followers, the group's total views on the channel have exceeded 9.88 billion. Baby Monster is approaching the 10 billion views mark, showing the group's significant appeal in the international market.
Among the outstanding videos, the MV "Sheesh" reached about 417 million views. The performance video "Like That" attracted 248 million views, while the performance video "Drip" recently surpassed 200 million views.
YG Entertainment assessed that the promotional activities for the third mini album "Choom", released in May, contributed to maintaining the channel's growth momentum.
In three months, the group successively introduced the title track "Choom", the digital single "Sugar Honey Ice Tea", the song "I Like It" and the new product "Moon". In total, Baby Monster released four MVs and three performance videos related to the album.
The content belonging to this promotion reached a total of nearly 700 million views. The MV and performance video of "Moon" alone attracted a total of about 100 million views.
A noteworthy point in Baby Monster's content strategy is that videos are not only focused on context, images or special effects. The vocals, choreography and performance ability of the members are often placed in the center.
Performance videos and dance videos have long become an important part of how international audiences approach Kpop. These contents are less dependent on language, helping artists reach viewers in many countries without encountering too many barriers.
This is also a strategy that YG Entertainment used to apply in the process of developing Blackpink's YouTube channel. Continuously releasing high-quality image content, while highlighting performance strengths, helps artists maintain interaction with fans between promotions.
