According to an announcement from BigHit Music on February 6, the program named "BTS THE CITY ARIRANG SEOUL" will take place from March 20 to April 12, turning the Korean capital into a cultural and artistic experience space imbued with the group's imprint.
The project is designed according to the "experienced city" model, where music, media and urban space blend, giving fans and tourists the opportunity to access culture in a new way. On the album release day, many iconic landmarks of Seoul such as Sungnyemun Gate (Namdaemun) and N Seoul Tower will be screened with special lighting and media content, creating a transition between tradition and modernity.
Not only stopping at famous attractions, the project also expands to many public areas. Yeouido Hangang Park will organize a lounge space to enjoy BTS music, while stone walls, stairs and many other urban areas are recreated into art exhibition locations. Through this, people can experience music culture in daily life instead of just limiting it to performance space.
BigHit Music said that the goal of the project is to create an open cultural journey, where participants can both enjoy BTS's return and explore urban art. The event is implemented in coordination with the Seoul City Government, and is expected to organize more combined activities such as cuisine, drinks and traffic experiences to increase interaction.
Previously, the "THE CITY" model was deployed by BTS in Las Vegas and Busan in 2022, attracting a large number of participants and contributing to promoting local tourism. The continued expansion of the project in Seoul shows the orientation to connect music with urban culture on a larger scale.
