According to an announcement from BigHit Music on January 5 (Korean time), BTS will release their fifth studio album at 1:00 PM on March 20. This is a special product marking the group's first full album comeback after 3 years and 9 months since the most recent release. The management company said that the new album clearly shows the musical direction that the seven members will pursue in the next journey.
BigHit Music emphasizes that BTS members have deeply participated in the entire songwriting process, from ideas, lyrics to messages, reflecting thoughts, emotions and personal experiences throughout the journey. The album includes 14 songs, introduced as a collection of sincere stories that BTS wants to send to ARMY fans - those who have patiently waited for the group to reappear with a full squad.
In addition to the new album, BTS also confirmed that it will organize a world tour, with a detailed schedule expected to be announced at 0:00 on January 14 (Korean time). This information immediately made the global fan community excited, as this is BTS's first tour since before the group temporarily stopped operating to fulfill military service.
BTS began the period of disruption of group activities from the end of 2022, when Jin enlisted in December 2022. From mid-2024, J-Hope, RM, V, Jimin and Jungkook were discharged in turn. Suga, serving as a social worker, also completed her service in June last year, officially closing the military phase of all seven members.
Immediately after the announcement was posted, many ARMY in Korea and internationally said that Weverse encountered slow access or unable to load content, believed to be due to a sudden increase in user access. On community forums, fans expressed excitement mixed with concern about competing for concert tickets, and also expected a large number of songs in the new album.
