Not avoiding the past's glory, nor illuding about her current position, "Doll" Thanh Thao shows a mature perspective of the artist who has gone through enough ups and downs to understand the value of endurance and love from the audience.
Thanh Thao said that her path to singing started very naturally from school art movements. In the early years, she sang at weddings to accumulate stage experience, sometimes having to "run" to 12-13 weddings in one day at the same restaurant. Although it was hard, that time helped the female singer train her courage and get acquainted with many different audiences.
An important turning point in Thanh Thao's career came when she was invited to join the live show of famous singer Huong Lan and had the opportunity to meet musician Duc Tri. A straightforward statement from the male musician completely changed her direction: "If Thao wants to become a professional singer, she needs to study properly. With such instinct, there will not be a long future path". That advice urged Thanh Thao to apply to the Conservatory of Music, opening a new, more serious and sustainable path with music.
His years of studying at the Conservatory of Music have given Thanh Thao a solid professional foundation, in parallel with regular participation in major music festivals. The female singer did not forget to mention memorable memories at music festivals organized by show producer Duy Ngoc - where she stood on the same stage with many famous artists and clearly felt the vibrant atmosphere of the music market at that time.
For many consecutive years, Thanh Thao has hardly had a complete Tet holiday with her family. From the 1st to the 15th of January, she followed tour groups across the province to serve the audience. For the female singer, it was a time that was both hard and appreciated, because not every artist had the opportunity to experience such brilliant and emotional "show run" days.
Looking back on the past, Thanh Thao affirmed that she has never regretted her choice. Originally from a family with a pedagogical tradition, having passed the Pedagogical College entrance exam and possibly becoming a Literature teacher, music fate took her to another direction - a direction that she herself did not expect.
Recently, Thanh Thao has tried her hand at old songs and light love songs. According to her, it is not a "change of direction" but a way to enrich artistic colors. Although she has released many folk songs, bolero or traditional music albums, Thanh Thao understands that the biggest mark in the hearts of the audience is still the vibrant image of a young female singer, associated with dance and dance groups - which has made her a brand for many years.
Sharing about the golden pressure, Thanh Thao frankly said that she has never been burdened by the rule of "growing bamboo and bamboo shoots". The female singer expressed her respect for the young generation of artists, and affirmed that she was not delusional about her name. "I am happy because I am loved by the audience wherever I go. That is enough to live easily and continue to contribute, Thanh Thao said.
