Vietnamese Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung had a meeting with French Minister of Culture Rachida Dati and signed the Cultural Cooperation Program for the period 2024-2028 between the two countries.
This is an important activity within the framework of the official visit to France by a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation and participation in the 19th Francophone Summit.
At the meeting, Minister Nguyen Van Hung expressed his delight at the effective cooperation between the two countries in the cultural field, especially in the context of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-France diplomatic relations and 10 years of strategic partnership.
Minister Nguyen Van Hung emphasized that the Cultural Cooperation Program for the 2024-2028 period signed this time is a solid foundation for effectively implementing specific activities, while promoting cooperation between the two countries to a new level. The program focuses on areas such as heritage preservation, development of cultural industries, performing arts and cinema. He expects the program to maximize the potential for cooperation between the two countries and create new, sustainable cultural values.
French Minister of Culture Rachida Dati expressed her appreciation for the long-standing cooperation between the two countries, especially in the cultural field. She emphasized that the long-term presence of the French in Vietnam has left unique cultural imprints in many aspects such as urban planning, architecture and cultural heritage. France always focuses on developing creative industries, which will create momentum for sustainable economic growth for both sides in the coming time.
Ms. Rachida Dati suggested that the two countries strengthen cooperation in the field of cinema, and invited Vietnam to participate in the Cannes Film Festival and vice versa, France will participate in the Hanoi International Film Festival HANIFF. She also expressed her wish to bring sculptures from the Louvre and Versailles to Vietnam so that the Vietnamese public can enjoy famous works right at home.
For his part, Minister Nguyen Van Hung highly appreciated the cooperation proposal of the French side and affirmed that Vietnam is always ready to welcome French film crews to explore and promote the beauty of the country. On this occasion, the Minister shared more information about the Vietnamese Government's groundbreaking of the National Exhibition Fair Center in Dong Anh, Hanoi with a scale of 90 hectares, promising to become one of the ten largest exhibition centers in the world, and at the same time a new growth engine for the region.
The signing of the Cultural Cooperation Program for the 2024-2028 period is an important step in strengthening the Vietnam-France comprehensive strategic partnership, while promoting cultural, economic cooperation and sustainable development between the two countries.
