On July 15 (Korean time), Min Hee Jin's side stated: "The Yongsan Police Department, Seoul has concluded that Min Hee Jin has not committed any wrongdoings in connection with the allegation of breach of trust filed by HYBE in April 2024. After more than a year of investigation, both cases filed by HYBE have been rejected without being charged."
Min Hee Jin had previously appeared at the Yongsan Police Department and underwent about eight hours of questioning. She told reporters: "I will tell the truth" and commented further: "If you call this a breach of trust, it would be unreasonable."
After the questioning, she added, "I requested to be questioned in advance. I'm hot-tempered and have a lot to say" and when asked if there is any additional evidence to provide, she replied, "We have a lot." Her lawyer confirmed that he would provide additional information later.
Min Hee Jin expressed her relief after the investigation, saying, "I feel better when I tell the truth. In my opinion, this entire breach of trust situation is almost a trick."
Previously, HYBE conducted an internal audit of ADOR in April 2024, accusing Min Hee Jin of trying to gain control of the company. On April 26, 2024, HYBE filed a complaint with the police, accusing Min Hee Jin of trying to take over ADOR's management rights despite being a minority shareholder. Min Hee Jin denied the allegations, saying that the company's ownership structure made the takeover impossible.
HYBE later fired Min Hee Jin and the current board members of ADOR through an emergency shareholders' meeting. In response, Min Hee Jin filed a petition for HYBE's ban on voting, and the order was approved by the Seoul Central District Court.
In the verdict, the court stated, "Based on the evidence presented so far, HYBE has not fully demonstrated the reason for dismissal." The court acknowledged that, Min Hee Jin clearly sought to reduce HYBEs control over ADOR and sought independent governance, especially regarding NewJeans, but the court held that these actions did not constitute a criminal breach of trust.
With the police officially dismissing HYBE's criminal lawsuit, Min Hee Jin seems to have won a major legal battle with HYBE.
