Proactively stimulating tourism thanks to early announcement of holiday and Tet schedules

As early as the end of 2024, the 2025 Tet holiday schedule has been widely announced. This creates conditions for the local tourism industry, businesses and tourists to proactively plan.

Stimulate tourism and spending

The 2025 holiday schedule has a total of 22 days on holidays, including 11 official days and 11 weekly days off, alternating. Clearly announcing the holiday schedule brings many significant benefits to the tourism industry.

Knowing the 2025 holiday schedule, Hoang Phuong (30 years old, office worker in Ho Chi Minh City) decided to plan a trip to Thailand on the Hung Kings' death anniversary - a 3-day holiday from April 5-7, 2025 before the crowded summer tourist season.

She said: “Last year’s April 30-May 1 holiday schedule was announced too close to the date, I didn’t have time to arrange where to go. This year, the schedule was announced early, so my group of friends and I proactively planned and arranged our work to prepare for the trip.”

In fact, the early announcement of the 2025 Tet holiday plan will help Vietnamese tourists proactively plan their travel early, from booking flights, hotels to preparing finances. From there, the trip will be planned in more detail and more economically.

Mr. Ho Xuan Phuc - General Director of Hanotours Travel Company - said that from the end of 2024, tourism businesses can make detailed plans for products, ensure service quality and diversify tourism programs.

“We proactively create promotional programs and special offers to attract more customers during the holidays. At the same time, businesses can launch promotional campaigns early, targeting the holidays to stimulate tourists’ travel needs,” Phuc told Lao Dong.

The representative of this business affirmed that information about the holiday and Tet schedule being announced early not only helps tourism businesses prepare better but also creates favorable conditions for tourists, adding momentum to tourism growth.

In addition, localities such as Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Ninh Binh, Da Nang, Khanh Hoa, Ho Chi Minh City, and Phu Quoc have announced many activities to serve tourists during the year-end festival season and welcome the new year 2025. Cultural and entertainment activities... will stimulate consumption, contributing to boosting the local economy.

Prepare the running steps

As usual, many businesses have started running tour and combo products for the 2025 Tet travel season since the last months of this year.
Mr. Bui Thanh Tu, Marketing Director of BestPrice, said that the number of domestic air travel products for the 2025 Tet holiday is expected to increase slightly by about 20% compared to the same period in 2024, despite airfares still being a significant obstacle. This trend is mainly driven by increased travel demand due to the 9-day Lunar New Year holiday.

However, compared to Lunar New Year, the one-day long New Year holiday will be much quieter. This is understandable, because Vietnamese tourists are waiting for the Lunar New Year holiday which lasts up to 9 days. This is the ideal time for tourists to take long trips and travel further. Another reason is that this year's Lunar New Year comes early, with only 1 day off right before the New Year.

“During the 2025 New Year period, we will focus on providing tours to nearby destinations, in line with customer preferences during short holidays. At the same time, the company will also step up preparations for popular tour products during the Lunar New Year, ready to welcome and support a large number of customers during this long holiday,” Mr. Bui Thanh Tu informed.

It is expected that foreign tours to Korea, Thailand, Singapore - Malaysia will tend to decrease in price. Meanwhile, destinations such as Japan and Taiwan (China) will increase service prices during this time. Domestic tours will generally have stable prices compared to 2024, especially tours with short distances, traveling by road such as Sa Pa - Fansipan, Ha Long Bay, Ninh Binh ...
