Actively transforming digitally, strengthening management
Over the past years, the Huong Pagoda Festival has undergone a complete digital transformation. Innovations in digital technology bring new experiences to visitors from all over the world, while improving the efficiency of relic management.
Since 2024, My Duc district has established the Huong Pagoda Tourism Service Cooperative to transport boats and ferries to serve tourists visiting and worshiping Buddha. The Management Board of Huong Son Relics and Scenic Area (Huong Pagoda) has converted the traditional form of selling sightseeing tickets to an electronic ticket model, printed electronic invoices and installed a ticket control system via QR-Code barcode.
More than 3,700 boats of the cooperative have been repaired, painted blue, fully equipped with life jackets, trash baskets, sun and rain umbrellas, seats, and free drinking water to serve tourists...
Speaking with Lao Dong, Mr. Nguyen Minh Duc - Deputy Director of Huong Pagoda Tourism Service Cooperative - said that the new point of Huong Pagoda Festival 2025 is to have QR codes for tourists to evaluate and give feedback on the service attitude of the boat drivers so that the cooperative can grasp the situation and make timely adjustments.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Duc shared about the operation of applying digital technology at Huong Son Relic and Scenic Area: “This year, thanks to the issuance of electronic tickets, the cooperative no longer has the situation of soliciting customers and forcing prices. Boats are numbered, boat owners have higher income, and income is equal. In 2024, there was still a situation where some boat owners were assigned more passengers, but this year, the organizing committee arranged tourists by machine, ensuring fairness. Applying electronic tickets helps to make ticket prices transparent and public, including children's tickets, avoiding disputes over ticket prices. Before operating, the management board spent time guiding and supporting members to access technology."
Regarding the relic space, My Duc district has focused on landscape decoration, installing billboards, backdrops, flower beds and ornamental plants along Provincial Road 419 (from Van Tin to Huong Son) and the walking route on both sides of Suoi Yen to create a landscape for tourists to visit and enjoy the festival.
Affirming the cultural value of traditional festivals
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Huong Pagoda Spring Festival, Mr. Dang Van Canh - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of My Duc district, Head of the Festival Organizing Committee - affirmed that Huong Pagoda is a place where spiritual and cultural values converge, not only an attractive tourist destination but also a cultural and religious center with strong appeal to domestic and international tourists.
“This year, the 2025 festival with the theme of Huong Pagoda Festival - a traditional Vietnamese cultural tourism destination, Huong Pagoda is a spiritual cultural tourism destination, remembering the origin, carrying the district's own brand, is the beauty of traditional Vietnamese culture. Pilgrimage to Huong Pagoda is the beauty of every Buddhist, every tourist has been returning to the land of Buddha since ancient times”, said Mr. Dang Van Canh.
The Management Board of Huong Son Relic and Scenic Area also organizes many cultural activities within the framework of the festival such as the Cultural - Tourism Week including fair activities displaying OCOP products of the locality and neighboring districts; performing traditional Vietnamese cultural and artistic activities in the locality, including: Te Tieu puppetry (Dai Nghia town), Muong gongs (An Phu commune), Cheo singing at clubs in the district...
