According to information from the People's Committee of Co To Special Economic Zone, from December 15, 2025 to June 5, 2026, the locality welcomed 145,113 tourist arrivals, an increase of 25.73% compared to the same period in 2025. Of which, international visitors reached 1,666 arrivals.
Revenue from tourism is estimated at over 490.3 billion VND, an increase of 32.77% compared to the same period last year.
Along with the growth momentum of tourists, Co To is focusing on improving service quality, managing the tourism business environment, and ensuring safety for tourists during the summer peak season.
Over the past time, the special zone has established a Tourism Development Steering Committee, a Rapid Response Team in tourism activities, and the Management Board of Van Chay and Hong Van beaches.
Currently, in the special zone, there are 211 accommodation establishments with 2,982 rooms; 563 establishments producing and trading food and catering services.
From the beginning of the year to now, the locality has received and handled 7 complaints from tourists related to service prices, accommodation, transportation and tourism experience activities; fined 1 case of violating regulations on price listing.
For transportation and sea entertainment services, Co To currently has 29 high-speed ferries transporting passengers, 3 ferries on the Co To - Thanh Lan route, 8 vehicles eligible to serve island tours and 360 electric cars serving tourists.
On June 19, Co To Special Zone Police coordinated with the Riverine Police Team, Traffic Police Department of Quang Ninh Provincial Police to inspect and request to stop the operation of 20 water motorbikes of 4 businesses at Hong Van beach because they do not meet the operating conditions according to regulations. These vehicles serve the business of pulling banana buoys and paragliding services.
Previously, in May 2026, functional forces also discovered 5 individuals driving water motorbikes violating regulations on operating conditions on the Co To - Thanh Lan channel, with a total fine of 73 million VND.
Environmental sanitation work continues to be maintained regularly, especially in the area of the Northern Gulf Fisheries Logistics Service Center and beaches. In the first 5 months of 2026, the entire special zone collected, transported and treated over 1,937 tons of waste, the collection rate reached over 98%. Functional forces also fined 1 case of littering into the sea with a total amount of 4 million VND.
The above moves show that the Co To special zone government is determined to rectify unconditional tourism services, prevent spontaneous business activities, ensure safety for tourists and maintain the image of attractive destinations during the summer peak season.
With the goal of welcoming 392,000 visitors and revenue reaching 1,176 billion VND in 2026, Co To is focusing on improving service quality standards, aiming to build the brand "Co To - green, smart, friendly, safe island".
