In 2025, the Culture, Information, Sports and Tourism sector (VHTTDL) achieved many important milestones, reflected in progress in perfecting institutions, effectively organizing major events and orienting sustainable development.
Recently, the Organizing Committee sent official letters to agencies and units under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Departments of Tourism, Departments of Culture and Sports nationwide... requesting to nominate typical Cultural, Information, Sports, Tourism and Family events in 2025. At the end of the nomination period according to regulations, the Organizing Committee received 135 nominations from 50 units. On that basis, the Working Group met and voted to select 30 events to submit to the Organizing Committee.
From this result, the Organizing Committee has summarized, selected and nominated 15 events, and reported to the leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organize a press conference and vote for 10 typical Culture, Sports and Tourism events in 2025.
According to the plan, voting will be organized in two forms: Live and online.
Van Hoa Newspaper held a press conference on the morning of December 23rd in Hanoi with the participation of representatives of leaders of Departments, Agencies... under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. In particular, there was the participation of nearly 70 journalists following the fields of Culture, Information, Sports, Tourism and Family from 50 central and local press agencies. At the end of the press conference, journalists participated in directly voting for 10 typical Culture, Sports and Tourism events in 2025 out of a total of 15 nominated events.
Online: Along with direct voting at the press conference, the Organizing Committee also opens an online voting portal on Van Hoa e-newspaper, social network platforms of Van Hoa Newspaper. Online voting time is from 8:00 AM on December 23, 2025 to 9:00 AM on December 25, 2025.
Below is a list of 10 typical Culture, Sports and Tourism events compiled from the two forms of voting mentioned above:
1. The work of building and perfecting institutions has changed very positively, being a highlight in 2025, a bright spot of the entire term, creating a solid premise for the VHTTDL industry to firmly move into a new era.
2. The National Achievements Exhibition with the theme "80 years of Independence - Freedom - Happiness Journey" is organized on the largest scale ever, suggesting directions for organizing exhibitions and fairs in the spirit of innovation, affirming Vietnam's potential and position.
3. Commemorating the 100th anniversary of Vietnamese Revolutionary Journalism (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025) and the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Culture sector (August 28, 1945 - August 28, 2025), General Secretary To Lam gave important directions and development orientations in the new period.
4. Vietnamese Cultural Heritage continues to affirm its prestige, experience, and stature on the international stage when in the year there are up to four typical heritages in various forms honored by UNESCO for the first time.
5. UNESCO General Assembly approves the initiative "International Decade of Culture for Sustainable Development" proposed by Vietnam.
6. A series of cultural and artistic events commemorating important events of the year creates a positive social effect; the year of the Great Music Festival's explosion, Vietnamese music made a brilliant impression at home and abroad, promoting the development of the cultural industry.
7. For the first time, the "Vietnam Happy Fest" is organized in the form of a series of meaningful and continuous activities.
8. The 24th Vietnam Film Festival and the imprint of the film "Red Rain" show the outstanding contribution of the Cinema industry in the development of the cultural industry; the 3rd Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF III) with many new points.
9. The Vietnam U22 team played excellently, winning the Gold Medal for the third time at the SEA Games.
10. Vietnam tourism grows most impressively in the world according to the assessment of the United Nations Tourism Organization (UN Tourism), for the first time exceeding the milestone of over 20 million international visitors, more than 130 million domestic visitors.
