In 2025, short films and web-dramas with the theme "General Director" appeared in high density on social networks with many different contents. This has raised public concerns about the harm they can do to viewers, especially young people and children.
At the same time, the online community also asked whether we should handle and reduce the appearance of this film genre on social networks?
On the afternoon of October 10, at the regular press conference for the third quarter of 2025 of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MOCST), Director of the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information - Mr. Le Quang Tu Do expressed his views on this issue.

According to Mr. Tu Do, Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism always has a policy of building a safe, useful and healthy cyberspace for people to use.
"If any content affects the ethics, lifestyle, standards... of the people and young people, we will consider and handle it immediately. However, for a specific case like this, it needs to be assessed more carefully," said Mr. Tu Do.

The leader of the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information said that web-drama and short film content on social networks are reviewed and handled according to Decree 147. However, it is difficult to determine what is a violation of the law for this type of film.
"We must consider whether the content is negative, conveying false ideas, has openings, affecting children or superstitious things... or not. If there is, we will take immediate measures to handle that content. However, it is impossible to block the entire "domineering CEO" theme but must follow the specific content of that web-drama, that short film", Mr. Tu Do commented.
Mr. Le Quang Tu Do added that since 2017, the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information has had a specialized force to scan, detect, and block content that violates the law, fake news, bad news, poison, untrue news, insulting organizations and individuals, etc. This working department is based on Decrees No. 72 of 2013 and 147 of 2024 of the Government on Internet management and online information content.
"We use both humans and technical tools to scan cyberspace, send requests to cross-border platforms such as Youtube, Facebook to block, remove information, images, clips... within 24 hours," Mr. Tu Do affirmed.
In the past 2 years, the timely blocking and removal rate of the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information has always reached a rate of 90% or more. On the occasion of the 14th Party Congress, the unit tightened the content, ensuring faster resolution of false and negative news within 2 hours.
In addition, the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information also launched a campaign to block and remove pages, channels, and news on cross-border platforms that only serve the dissemination of fake news.
At the press conference, leaders of the Department of Cinema and the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information also mentioned the case of the " itselfling road" appearing in the Chinese TV series "Let Me Shine".
Mr. Le Quang Tu Do affirmed that episode 16 (containing the image of " the cow tongue road") has not been broadcast in Vietnam but has only been broadcast in China. This image was cut in episode 16 scheduled to air in Vietnam.
However, both Departments agreed to remove and not broadcast any works with the image of "beef tongue road" even though it was cut off when broadcast in Vietnam.
