In the trading session on October 10, Vingroup's VIC shares continued to increase strongly and set a new peak, causing the net asset value of Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong - Chairman of Vingroup to increase.
VN-Index on October 10 continued to maintain its momentum when it increased by 31.08 points, equivalent to 1.81%, to more than 1,747 points - the highest level ever. Despite the sharp increase in the general index, the HoSE stock exchange still recorded a balance between buying and selling with 177 codes increased and 125 codes decreased.
The group of stocks in the Vingroup ecosystem continues to play a key support role for the market. The three codes VIC, VHM and VRE contributed 21.3 points to the VN-Index.
In particular, VIC increased the ceiling to VND192,000/share, the matched volume reached 4.3 million units, bringing market capitalization to nearly 740 trillion VND, maintaining the position of the enterprise with the largest market capitalization on the Vietnamese stock exchange. VHM also increased the margin to VND 123,000/share, the matched volume to VND 9 million units, and raised the capitalization to more than VND 505 trillion.
Foreign investors still maintain a state of light net selling in the whole market, but focus on buying strongly in some large-cap stocks such as HPG (447 billion VND), VIC (216 billion VND) and VHM (275 billion VND).
The explosive increase of VIC shares has helped Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong's asset value increase sharply. According to Forbes updated as of October 10 (Vietnam time), his net assets have reached 18.1 billion USD, an increase of 1.1 billion USD in a short time alone, consolidating his position as the richest person in Vietnam, while rising to 131st place in Forbes' world billionaire ranking.
In the list of USD billionaires of Vietnam, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao - CEO/Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietjet Air - currently has 3.5 billion USD, ranked 1,161st in the world; Mr. Tran Dinh Long - Chairman of Hoa Phat Group - owns 3 billion USD, ranked 1,342; Mr. Ho Hung Anh - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Techcombank - reached 2.6 billion USD, ranked 1,512th; while Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Masan Group - owns 1.2 billion USD, ranked 2,814th in the ranking.
