Pension and living in a 80m2 house
Mentioning Quoc Tri, the audience remembers an actor with a haggard face, often playing difficult, principled fathers in TV series. Many viewers call Quoc Tri the "difficult father" of VTV movies.
NSND Quoc Tri (real name Nguyen Van Tri) was born in 1957, has nearly 50 years of artistic activity. The actor said that in his youth he had the standard to study abroad, but because he liked acting, he disobeyed his father, determined to study to become an artist.
Sharing with Lao Dong reporters, People's Artist Quoc Tri said that until retirement, he never regretted having rejected the opportunity to study abroad. For him, living with the profession is a happiness that no money or material things can match.
Occasionally sitting with friends, they remind me of the old days when I went to the West, studied engineering and oil and gas, I must be very rich now.
But I think the profession has chosen people. Although not a tycoon, I am having a full and peaceful life in a cozy 80m2 apartment," Quoc Tri said.
The male actor confided that after studying acting, he was recruited into the spoken drama troupe of the General Department of Politics (now the Army Drama Theater). His first role was a soldier named Moc in the play "Chi Nha".
In 1999, Quoc Tri won the Best Actor award at the Vietnam Film Festival; Best Actor award at the 12th Vietnam Film Festival.
He was awarded the title of Meritorious Artist in 2001. In 2012, he was the first artist of the armed forces in theater and cinema to be awarded the title of People's Artist. In 2018, he retired under the regime.
When asked about pensions, NSND Quoc Tri said: "After 2 increases, I currently receive a pension of 18 million VND/month. This amount is high for a retiree (laughs).
If I get old or sick, I have the examination standards of a Colonel, People's Artist, so I don't worry about anything, but sometimes my children and grandchildren still give money to my grandparents to encourage our spirit," he said.
According to NSND Quoc Tri, many people in their old age have a habit of depositing savings or hoarding to buy gold, but he does not. He often spends money on buying for family living, buying fishing gear - a hobby he has maintained for 4-5 years in his old age.
NSND Quoc Tri said that he is also a very good cook and often goes to the kitchen. Every time there are guests at home, he often shows off his talent in making steamed fish or fish hotpot - his signature dish that every time he prepares, friends praise the male artist's chef skills.
In recent years, Quoc Tri has regularly participated in VTV television series such as: "Peaceful Tomorrow", "Season of Flowers Finding Back", "Calle in the Village", "Brain Battle", "Journey of Justice", "Under the Shadow of the Tree of Happiness", "Without Limits"... with many roles that impressed the audience.
I am not picky about roles, whether small, chính diện or phản diện, but if there is a good script, I will accept to participate. At this age, I make films not because of cat-xe but want to live my life to the fullest with the passion I have chosen," NSND Quoc Tri shared.
