On the morning of July 15, a scientific seminar with the theme "Preserving and promoting the value of Trung Phuong ancient town port associated with cultural tourism development in Southeast Da Nang" took place. The event was co-organized by the Da Nang City Historical Science Association, Duy Nghia Commune People's Committee and Lao Dong Newspaper.
Speaking at the opening of the event, Mr. Pham Duoc - Chairman of Duy Nghia Commune People's Committee assessed that Trung Phuong area once formed an important trading port on the international maritime route. Faced with the spatial planning problem after Duy Nghia commune was directly under the two-level administrative system of Da Nang city, the local government identified the task of turning cultural resources into economic driving force.
In order to serve the goal of forming a coastal heritage tourist route, the Chairman of Duy Nghia Commune People's Committee proposed that the city use scientific arguments from the seminar to supplement the Trung Phuong heritage area into the zoning plan map.
Regarding the implementation plan, Mr. Duoc emphasized: "We do not connect that journey with boats overcoming waves but with knowledge, science and technology and the aspiration to build a city that harmonizes modernity and tradition".

Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi - Vice Chairwoman of Da Nang City People's Committee affirmed: "Heritage preservation is not only preserving the traces of the past but also awakening and promoting the core values of history and culture to foster identity, build internal strength and open up new impetus for the sustainable development of a locality".
Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee requested departments, branches and local authorities to focus on implementing five key task groups. Besides the requirement to continue archeology and build conservation thinking associated with general development planning, city leaders especially emphasized the requirement to promote the subjective role of the community.
The government system needs to create conditions for people to directly tell heritage stories and benefit from the preservation process, forming a cultural experience route connecting Trung Phuong with Hoi An, My Son and Cu Lao Cham.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi oriented: "Each task being implemented must aim for the ultimate goal so that heritage is not lying idle in scientific records, but becomes a part of life.
