Honoring and preserving the beauty of Ao Dai
On the evening of March 7, the opening ceremony of the 11th Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival in 2025 took place at the President Ho Chi Minh Monument Park and Nguyen Hue Street (District 1).
At the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc - Member of the Party Central Committee - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee said that the Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival in 2025 will continue the success of the previous 10 festival seasons, continuing to honor and preserve the beauty of Ao Dai.
At the same time, spreading the quintessence of national culture, contributing to promoting the image of the country and people of Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City - a dynamic, creative city, deeply integrated but always nurturing and preserving good traditional values.
This year's festival is a cultural - tourism event opening a series of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025). From there, it marked the city's strong transformation, accompanying the whole country into a new era of the nation.
The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee wished all mothers, sisters, friends and children to always be beautiful and charming in the Vietnamese ao dai. At the same time, continue to promote the tradition of Vietnamese women "Heroes - Incestuate - Mid-wife - Confiding" and increasingly contribute many values, affirming the position of this force.
Many collections of Ao Dai, imbued with Vietnamese cultural identity
The highlight of the opening night was the art program consisting of 3 chapters: Ao Dai and the song of the river; Ao Dai and the roads of fireworks; Ao Dai - brilliant with Vietnamese colors.
Chapter 1 with 6 collections and more than 70 ao dai models, leads the story of the land of Saigon - Gia Dinh associated with the Saigon River.
Chapter 2 takes people and tourists through an emotional journey, from the history of fighting in Ho Chi Minh City to peace and remarkable development, through 4 collections and 80 Ao Dai models.
Chapter 3 includes 7 collections and more than 120 ao dai models, with the message that ao dai is a bridge connecting Vietnamese cultural heritage with international friends, affirming Vietnam's position on the global fashion map.
The 2025 Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival will be accompanied by the image ambassadors of more than 30 guests and celebrities working in many fields such as politics, economics, beauty queens, singers, actors; nearly 60 Ao Dai designers from many localities across the country will also participate in this year's festival with collections expressing unique cultural identities.
Also within the framework of this year's Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival, the Ao Dai folk dance performance program with the participation of more than 50,000 people combined with the traditional costume parade "Bach Hoa Duong".
The 11th Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival in 2025 with the theme of Ao Dai Vietnam - Rising Vietnam will last until March 9 (8 days) with a series of diverse activities at locations such as President Ho Chi Minh Monument Park and Nguyen Hue Street, Lam Son Park, historical sites, cultural relics...
