The project to restore and embellish Bao Ha Temple, Bao Yen District, Lao Cai Province was approved by the People's Committee of Bao Yen District (old) under Decision No. 3091/QD-UBND dated August 18, 2021.
This project has a total investment of 166 billion VND, the Bao Yen District Construction Investment Project Management Board (now the Bao Yen Area Construction Investment Project Management Board) is the project investor.
According to the reporter's investigation, on August 12, 2025, the Bao Yen area investment and construction project management board announced the bidding for Package No. 14: Construction (adjustment and supplementation items) of the project.
Package No. 14 was widely bid online, priced at more than VND 23.5 billion from loans from the Provincial Development Investment Fund and revenue from Bao Ha Temple relic; the package implementation period is 120 days (from the effective date of the contract).
In the coming time, after the results of the contractor selection, the winning bidder will construct the following items: moved floors; kitchen, dining room; roofed temporary concrete gate ( gate No. 3); roofed external gate (No. 4); trees; lighting; drainage, water supply; technical infrastructure; stone walking paths for sightseeing and gold-plated houses.

According to the approved decision, the Bao Ha Temple Restoration and embellishment project is divided into 2 phases. Of which, phase 1 with a total investment of 80 billion VND (completed), phase 2 with a total investment of 86 billion VND. Package No. 14 is part of the plan to select additional contractors in phase 2.
The Bao Ha Temple relic was ranked as a national historical and cultural relic by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in November 1997. For many years, Bao Ha Temple has been a highlight of spiritual tourism in Lao Cai province, attracting millions of visitors from all over the world to the ceremony.
The restoration and embellishment of relics aims to increase the life and return the value and beauty of the landscape to the relics, increasing the folk cultural fund. The completed project will create an attractive landscape complex, attracting tourists to visit and celebrate, facilitating accompanying services, thereby creating jobs and income for local people and generating revenue for local budgets.
