The project to restore and embellish Pu Don Hill Historical Site has a total investment of nearly 43 billion VND, funded by the Ministry of National Defense. The project was organized by Military Region 1 in coordination with the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province and started on February 19, 2024.
The project covers an area of 3.2 hectares at Pu Don Hill, Tin Keo Hamlet, Phu Dinh Commune (Dinh Hoa). The site is where Uncle Ho presided over the ceremony to confer the first rank of General of the Vietnam People's Army on Comrade Vo Nguyen Giap.
According to the reporter's records in early January 2025, after nearly 1 year of implementation, up to now, items such as: the ceremonial gate, the stone block with the name of the project, the monument stele house, the memorial house of General Vo Nguyen Giap... and other auxiliary items have been completed and spacious.
Inside the relic site, some places have been planted with trees to create landscape, and the construction items and gardens have been cleaned.
Mr. Ma Quang Khanh (Dinh Hoa) said that the project to restore and renovate the Pu Don Hill Historical Relic is a meaningful and practical work; a way to preserve heroic historical memories and a place to educate the younger generation about revolutionary traditions.
"I hope that after restoration and renovation, Pu Don Hill Relic will be widely promoted so that more people will know about it. Now, the interior landscape is spacious and clean, creating favorable conditions for both locals and visitors to visit and learn," Mr. Khanh shared.
Having a house near Pu Don Hill Relic, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tham said that this relic site has long been the pride of the people of the revolutionary base Dinh Hoa.
"I am very happy to see Pu Don hill being restored and embellished. This is not only a heritage of local people but also a cultural and historical asset of the whole country," said Ms. Tham.
On January 10, speaking with Lao Dong Newspaper reporter, Mr. Ma Doan Thanh - Vice Chairman of Phu Dinh Commune People's Committee (Dinh Hoa District) said that the Pu Don Hill Relic Restoration Project was completed in December 2024, this is a Relic ranked at the national level by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2009.
According to the commune leader, after the project was completed, it brought a new look to the Relic, becoming a cultural highlight with important historical significance.
"The Pu Don hill relic site has become more spacious after completion. Many visitors come here to visit, sightsee, and burn incense. This is a very meaningful project that helps people understand more about the history and culture of the country, especially for the younger generation," the commune leader informed.
