In a conversation at the beginning of spring 2026 - the year of new beginnings, the female artist confided about her career and pride as a cultural worker before the new opportunities of the country after the 14th Party Congress.
Meeting Thu Quynh in the early days of the new year, it seems that you are in a very excited mood for your upcoming plans?
- First of all, at the beginning of spring, we always wish each other joy and peace in life. For work, I send my wishes to the audience for fortune, having a starting point for the number 1 year in a favorable 10-year cycle, starting a beautiful number 1 year.
In Numerology, 2026 is called the 1st World Year (Universal Year 1). This is a concept used to refer to the common energy covering the entire world that year, symbolizing new beginnings and seeds.
After the success of contrasting roles such as Hue in "Ve nha di con" or My Soi in "Quynh bup be", audiences are very curious about what color Thu Quynh in the criminal project "Lua trang" will have, sister?
- It has been 8 years since I participated in the movie "Quynh Doll", I have officially returned to the topic of crime films. Previously, I participated in the movie "Journey to Justice", but that is just a very small aspect of the pursuit film genre, not aimed at crime.
And the movie "White Flame" will be purely criminal, there will be action, fighting, and dramatic scenes about professional work on the police side. The film also exploits many slices describing the danger on the criminal side. Therefore, I hope the movie will be attractive to audiences and welcomed by audiences.
Can you reveal more specifically about the personality or fate of the character you will play?
- To be honest, I don't know what my role will be like this time when I start filming at the end of January. I haven't received all the scripts, so anything can happen in "White Flame". It may be hard to become soft, it may be that the authorities are becoming criminals or vice versa. That is also the reason when participating in the launch of a quality miniseries film, the movie "White Flame" has not had any images or promotional teasers. Hopefully, the movie broadcast in April to June this year on VTV golden hour will bring many surprises to the audience.
In the document of the 14th Party Congress, there is emphasis on cultural development. As a young artist, what are your expectations for the development of culture and performing arts in the new period?
- Currently, I am Deputy Secretary of the Youth Theater Youth Union, and also a young artist. If the audience follows my social networking sites, you can see that I am very enthusiastic about the work of the Youth Union as well as very patriotic.
I feel extremely lucky to participate in the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day in 2025 and directly participate in the Parade in the Sports and Culture block of the 80th Anniversary of National Day September 2nd. I feel honored and proud to participate in major and important events of the country.
Recently, I was honored to represent the Youth Union of the Youth Theater and the Central Youth Union at the national flag salute ceremony, joining the atmosphere of the whole country to celebrate the 14th National Congress of the Party and the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
With the mindset of being a youth union member, a "child" of the Party, I hope that after the Party Congress, there will be many innovations for the country to develop as well as creating opportunities for young youth union members to step out into the world, bringing Vietnamese identity, Vietnamese youth reaching far beyond the world.
In recent years, culture has been of particular concern to the Party and the State, making us artists very happy. On important occasions of the country, the contribution of culture is even greater, the role of culture is pushed up very high, expressed through propaganda as well as promoting Vietnamese culture, accompanying many other departments to orient Vietnamese youth as a guide, so that propaganda about laws, guidelines and policies of the Party and State is closer and easier to reach people throughout regions and remote areas.
I am happy that the issue of cultural development has been concerned. I hope that artists, theaters, film studios... will be supported to improve their professional qualifications.
