On the evening of July 31, the final of Miss Grand Vietnam 2026 took place in Ho Chi Minh City with the competition of 30 contestants. Overcoming many candidates, Emoura Pham won the crown and became the successor to Miss Nguyen Thi Yen Nhi.
The new beauty queen will represent Vietnam at Miss Grand International 2026. 1st runner-up Ngo Bao Ngoc was also given the opportunity to participate in an international beauty contest.
Emoura Pham's real name is Turner Katherine Margaret, Vietnamese name is Pham Chan Phuong. She was born in 2000 to a Vietnamese mother and a British-South African father.
The beauty is 1.70m tall, with measurements of 80-60-92cm. She possesses a small face, a high nose bridge, deep eyes and Western-looking features. Instead of a gentle image, Emoura pursues a healthy, personality and somewhat sharp style on stage.
Before participating in the beauty pageant, Emoura Pham participated in "Vietnam's Next Top Model 2025". Modeling experience helps her have performance skills and posing ability in front of the camera.
At Miss Grand Vietnam 2026, Emoura entered the Top 5 in the Grand Fashion Award and Grand Talent Award categories. In the talent competition, she both played instruments and performed the song "Heal the world" with a choir of 20 members.
In the final, Emoura also won the Best Peace Presentation Contestant award. When asked what she would introduce about Ho Chi Minh City to international friends, she chose to talk about the energy, pace of life and kindness of the city's people.
One of the special points of the new Miss is her academic and living background abroad. Emoura used to study at British International School, The American School and lived in the US for about 10 years before returning to Vietnam in early 2025.
Using English for a long time made it impossible for her to fully express herself in Vietnamese. When participating in "Vietnam's Next Top Model 2025", she was once advised by the judges to speak more Vietnamese.
During Miss Grand Vietnam 2026, Emoura also admitted this limitation and said that she is trying to study and improve her ability to use her mother tongue. After she was crowned, the language issue continued to create many mixed opinions.
A part of the audience believes that the beauty queen title holder needs to use Vietnamese fluently to conveniently participate in community activities and communication. Other opinions believe that Emoura can overcome the limitations if he is seriously trained before participating in international competitions.
Before the final, Emoura also caused controversy with a bold swimsuit performance. She leaned on the pool wall, performing sexy poses. Some viewers commented that the performance was too showy and not suitable for the beauty contest framework.
The organizers then said that the contestants had changed some movements compared to the content agreed upon in the general rehearsal. The organizing unit affirmed that it will strengthen control over the training and performance process.
From a contestant who continuously created mixed opinions, Emoura Pham won the highest title. However, the crown also puts the beauty before the requirement to improve her Vietnamese language ability, communication skills and image before representing Vietnam to step into the international arena.
