On October 26, the Department of Tourism of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province said that the locality plans to organize 10 major events to attract tourists during the remaining time of 2024.
These include cultural and artistic programs such as: art exchange between Vung Tau City and Gunsan City (Korea) on November 1; Mister World contest (from November 2-30); Phi Yen's death anniversary (November 9-18); activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of National Defense Day (December 20-22); art program to welcome the new year 2025 (December 31).
Or planned events include: the announcement ceremony of the general planning for Con Dao construction until 2050; announcement of the Decision to recognize Con Dao National Tourist Area; welcoming the first flight of Vietjet Air to Con Dao;...
In addition, a number of large socialized sports programs are also organized such as: Strong Vietnam Marathon 2024 (November 16-17); Vung Tau City Trail 2024 (December 7-8); "Fast walking tour" in Con Dao (November 28)...
Notably, the event "Ba Ria - Vung Tau Tourism Week 2024" will be held for 3 days (December 13-15, 2024) in Xuyen Moc, with the theme "LET'S GO!!! Ba Ria - Vung Tau" with a series of notable activities such as spaces, miniatures, hot air balloons for check-in; introducing local destinations, cuisine and OCOP products; international tourism promotion seminar; Vung Tau Discovery Night Run 2024; golf, pickleball tournament; and a special music festival program.
Mr. Trinh Hang - Director of the Department of Tourism - said that in addition to the major programs and events organized, many local businesses also launched a series of incentive and stimulus packages to attract tourists at the end of 2024.
"There are services that are discounted by up to 65% compared to the listed price. Many establishments have launched incentive and stimulus programs, lasting until the end of 2024 or later, so that visitors can enjoy high-quality services at the lowest possible prices," Mr. Hang informed.
With a series of events organized and stimulus packages and low-season incentives launched by businesses, the tourism industry expects to attract a large number of tourists during the low season at the end of the year, as well as promote the image of tourism to domestic and international friends.
