According to statistics from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in 2026, Quang Ninh will have a total of 132 traditional festivals.
The Binh Ngo Lunar New Year holiday 2026 lasts 9 days, from February 14th to the end of February 22nd, 2026 (ie from December 27th of the year At Ty to January 6th of the year Binh Ngo). During this time, 15 traditional festivals take place throughout the province.
Starting with the Me Xa Temple Festival (Dong Trieu ward) taking place on the 1st day of Tet. On the 3rd day of Tet, there is the Temple - Ngoc Vung Temple Festival (Van Don special zone).
On the 4th day of the first lunar month, a series of festivals will take place including: Xuan Quang communal house, Xuan Quang Pagoda (Thien Truc) in Mao Khe ward; Yen Dong Pagoda, Hung Linh Pagoda (Phong Coc ward); Tien Cong Festival in Hiep Hoa and Lien Hoa wards. On the 5th day of the first lunar month, the Cau Ngu Festival (Ha An ward) takes place.

On the 6th day of the first lunar month, there are festivals: Duc Son Village (Hoang Que ward); La Duong Pagoda (Dong Trieu ward); La Pagoda (Phong Coc ward); Linh Ung Pagoda (Mao Khe ward); Tra Linh Tu Pagoda; Thuong Thong Communal House; Hang Son Temple - Pagoda.
The highlight of the spring festival season is the Yen Tu Spring Festival 2026, which is organized on the largest scale ever.
The opening ceremony will take place on February 26, 2026 (January 10th of the lunar calendar) at Truc Lam Palace, Yen Tu Relic and Scenic Area, with a scale of about 5,000 attendees.
The program includes traditional rituals such as palanquin procession, ringing drums - ringing bells to open the festival, offering incense, praying for national peace and prosperity, stamping the sacred Yen Tu seal... with the participation of Yen Tu, Uong Bi, Vang Danh, Binh Khe, Hoang Que wards.
The activities contribute to affirming the value of Yen Tu relics and scenic spots and raising awareness of heritage preservation and promotion.
In particular, the Spring Festival will have an art program taking place at 8 pm on the same day at Chua Trinh yard, with a scale of about 10,000 participants, recreating the historical, cultural, and ideological journey of the Truc Lam Yen Tu Zen sect.
The Truc Lam Yen Tu Buddhist Exhibition takes place from February 25 to March 4, 2026 at Guong Thien Khai Tam, introducing documents, images, and artifacts about the formation and development of the Truc Lam Zen sect and antiques of the Tran Dynasty.
The accompanying series of activities includes: folk games, cultural experiences; OCOP Fair - Food Festival (February 25 - April 3) in the Ha Kieu 1 Bus Station area with more than 100 booths; "Yen Tu - source of wisdom" retreat (February 24 - 26) with a scale of about 3,000 Buddhists.
In addition, the experiential program "Spring of Heritage - Tet of Nuong Village" (February 10 - 24) organizes horse performances, dragon - lion dances, martial arts, folk games, experiencing craft villages and cuisine of the Dao Thanh Y people.
