On March 27, members of the NewJeans fan community, known as Bunnies, parked their trucks in front of HYBE's building in Yongsan District, Seoul. This is to call for an end to the conflict and urge an open dialogue between NewJeans and ADOR.
Fans said: The main lawsuit, appeal and the Supreme Court process will take at least three years. If NewJeans loses, the five members will have to suffer the penalty alone. All 11 banas were issued in favor of ADOR - which created a bad precedent for the main lawsuit. We want to show the members that there are other solutions.
This protest originated from the legal battle between NewJeans and HYBE-ADOR. Although the ban on ADOR's exercise of shareholder rights has been fully upheld by the court, the members of NewJeans have expressed their intention to continue the main lawsuit, in fact preventing them from conducting their independent activities under the name of NewJeans.
The group recently completed a performance at ComplexCon in Hong Kong (China) on March 23, after which they announced a temporary hiatus, further fueling controversy.
