On the afternoon of February 25, G-Dragon (Big Bang) released his 3rd studio album in his career called Übermensch.
The album has a total of 8 songs, including 2 previously released songs: "Power", "Home Sweet Home" and 6 new songs including "Too Bad" (featuring Anderson .Paak), "Drama", "IBELONGIIU", "Take Me", "BONAMANA", "Gyro-Drop".
The MV for the two title tracks Too Bad and Drama was simultaneously released on YouTube. Notably, the MV Too Bad features the most famous female idol of the 4th generation of Kpop - Karina of aespa group.
According to the media, the leader of Big Bang created a "seismic" in Korea when he officially made his comeback. 8 songs in the album Übermensch swept the high positions of many Korean music charts.
After only 1 hour, Too Bad debuted at No. 1 on the 3 Melon Top 100 charts, Genie and Bugs.
G-Dragon is the 3rd K-pop artist and the first male solo artist in history to have a debut song go straight to No. 1 on Melon Top 100 (Korean's largest music chart). Previously, only BTS's "Yet To Come" (2022) and IU's "Love Wins All" (2024) did this.
The song Drama also achieved impressive results with 5th place Melon, 7th place Genie and 4th place Bugs.
As of 5:08 p.m. on February 25, the album Übermensch sold 620,970 copies on Hanteo. Although it was less than 24 hours, Übermensch has now become the best-selling album of the first day and first week of G-Dragons career.
