On February 25, information from Long Phu district (Soc Trang province) said that strong winds (Northeast monsoon) caused damage to 3 houses of people in Tan Hung commune. 1 house completely collapsed, the remaining 2 houses had their roofs partially blown off, causing damage of about 50%.
Immediately after the incident, local authorities, militia, and youth arrived at the scene to promptly support the affected people in moving their belongings.

In Tra Vinh province, wind blows caused many trees on the streets of Tra Vinh city to fall, be uprooted, and have broken branches, causing traffic obstruction.

Strong winds also brought down many temporary tents built around Chong prem Pagoda (Vien An Commune, Tran De District, Soc Trang Province) which is preparing for the Si Ma Boundary Ceremony (inauguration of the main hall).
Strong winds also affect the fishing of fishermen along the coast of Tran De district (Soc Trang province).
Fisherman Nguyen Thu Thao in Tran De town shared: "Every year at this time, there are few thunderstorms, but this year there are too many thunderstorms, affecting the exploitation. My family depends on the seafood industry, the ships cannot go to sea, so my income is also affected".
Mr. Do Huy Lap - Director of the Soc Trang Province Hydrometeorological Station - informed: The central East Sea area, the offshore waters from Khanh Hoa to Ca Mau, the western sea area of the South East Sea (including the western sea area of Truong Sa archipelago) have strong winds of level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting to level 7 - 8, rough seas. Sea waves are 2 - 4 m high. Natural disaster risk level due to strong winds at sea - level 2. All ships operating in the above areas are at high risk of being affected by tornadoes, strong winds and big waves.
