Family is a solid foundation
Miss Phuong Linh herself is a new face in the beauty arena. When coming to a national competition, there were many opinions that she was inexperienced and would be more likely to face more pressure. Is that an obstacle for her?
- At first, I was a bit hesitant, as well as not completely confident in my own abilities. I once felt inferior, even comparing myself to other contestants - you have a lot of experience, showing very outstanding results.
That made me feel scared. But the more I get into the preparation process and practice seriously, the more confident I feel. I realized that those skills I can completely learn, I can do. And with each small step, my belief in myself is clearly and stronger.
I also think that the fact that the girl used to be an office worker, had never set foot in showbiz but today could be named in the Miss position is a very clear message to young people: Don't limit yourself. Don't rush to think that you can't do it. Just try it and you will be there. Because sometimes, miracles start easily just by daring to act.
For Miss Phuong Linh personally, it is unknown what role her family has played in her journey to adulthood? From a girl studying technology to becoming a beauty queen, how did you consider making such a decision?
- Family is my core foundation, the fulcrum of love and also the place where I always put all my trust. Family gives me a sense of security, so that no matter how many changes or challenges life has, I always have a place to return to.
Since I was a child, I have received very good education from my family and that is something I have always cherished and thanked for. It is that solid foundation that has helped me confidently pursue any direction in life, with a relaxed mindset and a strong spirit.
In particular, during the competition, my family has always been by my side and wholeheartedly supported me. For me, it is a great source of spiritual strength for me to be able to steadfastly walk on this journey.
As for the decision to change direction originated from the reason of wanting to step out of my comfort zone, trying my hand at a completely new playground to gain more experience and impact in life.
What makes Phuong Linh believe that she is worthy of the title of Miss Universe Vietnam 2025?
- I think there is nothing that needs to be "explained" to prove my coronation. Everything I have shown throughout the past journey is a tireless effort and is completely transparent.
I am a girl who always dares to set clear goals for myself. Not only stopping at dreams, I always build specific plans to realize that. For each goal I set, I put 100% of my energy and enthusiasm into pursuing it.
It is the spirit of living with direction, responsibility for my choices and serious commitment in each action that I believe is the biggest strength that helps me reach the crown.
Respectfully give feedback from the audience
"The Miss now no longer has the noble value as before, because it is easy to meet... the Miss when going out". What do you think about that view?
- I think I always respect the opinions of the audience. And in fact, having such diverse perspectives is also very necessary, because those perspectives help those who are holding the title of Miss like me to look back at themselves more clearly. From there, I have the responsibility to act and make more efforts to be worthy of the title I am holding.
And the important thing is how to gradually limit the opinions that beauty queens are no longer as valuable as before. As for me - a completely new person who has just entered the beauty journey, but has made efforts to be crowned, I think that partly reflects the image of a girl who is not afraid of challenges, knows how to learn quickly, knows how to open her heart to new things and especially knows how to set goals for herself... and then pursue it to the end.
So for Phuong Linh personally, when she became a public figure - especially when holding titles such as Miss and Runner-up - it was almost inevitable that the audience would scrutiniz her. Are you pressured about this?
- I think when I become a public figure, receiving observation, evaluation, even review - is inevitable. But I choose to look at it positively, gently and sometimes... find it quite interesting.
Recently, I have seen some old photos of myself as a child, going to school, or when I was not well-educated being shared on social networks. I don't feel ashamed. On the contrary, I cherish those moments, because they are part of my own journey to adulthood.
Each stage has its own beauty and it is those simple things that contribute to creating the me of today. I think that concern, whether it is support or debate, is the motivation for me to try to improve myself every day.
What is Phuong Linh's upcoming plan?
- My upcoming plan will start with a meeting with the press and media - to be able to connect closer to the audience and help people better understand the girls representing Miss Universe Vietnam this year. In the following days, I will accompany the Miss Universe Vietnam Organizing Committee to implement the community projects that I have cherished since I was still in the contest.
