According to the activity report, in 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City Writers' Association still faced many difficulties in professional operating expenses, but the Executive Committee determined the policy of "proactively connecting and expanding the scope of operations", gradually creating spillover effects through professional programs, directly contributing to the spiritual life of the community.
A notable milestone is that from July 2025, after merging the boundaries, the Ho Chi Minh City Writers' Association will receive an additional 110 members of the literary sector from Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau, bringing the total number of members to about 650 people; of which there are about 200 members of the Vietnam Writers' Association.

In the past year, the Association maintained key activities such as summarizing and awarding literary prizes in 2024 and admitting new members; organizing Vietnam Poetry Day in Ho Chi Minh City with the theme "Song of Unification" on February 11-12, 2025...
Notably, the Association implemented the project "Poems set to music - 50 years of Ho Chi Minh City", selecting nearly 100 poems set to music by 81 musicians into more than 100 songs.
In addition, the Association promotes connections with universities, publishing houses, cultural organizations and diplomatic missions to expand international literary exchanges: Vietnam-Korea, Vietnam-China exchanges, Vietnam-Palestine poetry meetings...
Speaking at the summary meeting, writer Trinh Bich Ngan emphasized that Ho Chi Minh City is converging many "cultural sources" after the merger, creating favorable conditions but also posing challenges for the creative team. According to her, literature is the "original source of materials" for many types of art; writers must raise professional standards to keep up with their mission in the new media environment, where digital content also requires storytelling thinking, creating drama and finding beauty as a form of creativity.
Stepping into 2026, the Association identifies the focus of improving the quality of professional activities, fostering young writing forces, focusing on translated literature; maintaining the website as a "mobile yearbook" for members; preparing for Vietnam Poetry Day 2026 and the Congress for the term 2025–2030; and at the same time strengthening the socialization of funding and connecting members in remote areas.
