On July 8, the Hue Festival Organizing Committee held a press conference to launch the Photography Contest "Hue - Ancient Capital, New Experience" within the framework of Hue Festival 2026.
The contest is organized by the Hue Festival Organizing Committee, with the sponsorship of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, in coordination with the Hue City Department of Tourism, the Hue City Union of Literary and Art Associations and the Hue City Photography Association.
According to the Organizing Committee, the contest aims to honor the beauty of nature, people, cultural heritage and living environment of Hue; and at the same time promote the image of a heritage, cultural, ecological and friendly city to the domestic and international public.
The entries reflect Hue's beauty in the harmony between tradition and modernity; people, culture, cuisine, festivals, craft villages, tangible and intangible heritage, along with achievements in economy, tourism, education, health, science - technology and urban development.
The contest is for all Vietnamese citizens, including Vietnamese people living, studying and working abroad. The work is a single photo created in Hue City from 2025 until the end of the submission period, which can be taken with a camera, smartphone, flycam or other legal recording devices.
The Organizing Committee accepts works from July 15 to September 15, 2026 via website www.5wphoto.com.
The contest has 16 prizes with a total value of 91 million VND, including 1 First Prize worth 20 million VND, 2 Second Prizes (10 million VND/prize), 3 Third Prizes (7 million VND/prize) and 10 Consolation Prizes (3 million VND/prize). Excellent works will be displayed at the exhibition scheduled to take place in October 2026 in Hue City.
The Organizing Committee expects the contest to attract a large number of professional, amateur photographers and photography lovers to participate, contributing to promoting the image of Hue rich in identity, dynamism and integration.
