On July 8, the Department of Culture and Sports of Hue City coordinated with the Department of Education and Training to open a Hue Ca training program for more than 160 music teachers of elementary schools in the area.
The program is part of the Project "Protecting and promoting the value of Hue Ca art heritage to 2030", which identifies bringing Hue Ca into schools as an important task to preserve and promote the cultural heritage value of the locality.
The training course includes 10 sessions with a total duration of 50 hours. Teachers are taught general knowledge about Hue Ca by artisans, practice Hue folk songs, Hue Ca tunes and interact with artisans of the Chamber Music Club of Hue Ca.
Hue Ca is a unique art form, combining royal and folk music, imbued with Hue's cultural identity. In 2015, Hue Ca was included in the National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
According to the leader of the Department of Culture and Sports of Hue City, the program aims to build a team of teachers with sufficient knowledge to spread Hue Ca in schools, helping students understand, love and be proud of their homeland heritage, thereby contributing to preserving and promoting traditional cultural values.
