With a series of high-grossing projects, does being considered a new generation beauty, a face worth hundreds of billions of VND in Vietnamese films bring you pressure or motivation?
- I think it's both. This nickname or any nickname is a motivation and pressure for me to try harder. I appreciate the name that the audience gives me and hope I don't disappoint everyone.
Has Kaity ever felt that being expected to be a "billionaire face" or a "box office guaranteed face" is a loose shirt for you?
- I started working when I was 16, maybe I'm still young, but I've already been in 8 movies. I've gotten used to the pressure. If a shirt is too big, I can alter it to fit me.
In 2024, Kaity appeared in “Cong Tu Bac Lieu”. This was a rare project that Kaity participated in but failed at the box office. Can the role in “Cong Tu Bac Lieu” be considered a lesson or a failure for Kaity Nguyen?
- I think failure is the mother of success. If you are too worried about what you have done wrong or not done well, you will not be able to achieve success. “Cong Tu Bac Lieu” is not a step back. I can still continue to act in films and actors have to act in films. Projects are not always as successful as expected. I learn lessons after each film. Certainly, I am very proud of the film “Cong Tu Bac Lieu”.
I think an actor’s job is to study and act. If I only choose safe scripts with the potential for success, it’s like I only want the best and don’t love this job. A beautiful journey must have ups and downs, like a heartbeat.
Looking back at the film projects she participated in, some roles were praised, some roles did not leave an impression... What do Kaity think when she looks back?
- I think it's natural for the audience to praise or criticize, because everyone has different opinions. At least, I feel lucky because what I'm doing is still being cared about by everyone. The journey will definitely have ups and downs, you have to love it and love it completely.
For me, all roles are good roles. But the important thing is which role touches the audience. I received that script and took on that role, so the character is definitely something special to me. I am still very lucky to be with the profession, and still trusted, still given roles. I should appreciate that more than judge a role as good or not so excellent.
Many people appreciate Kaity for her beauty, some compliment her for her intelligence and maturity, and others compliment her for her high concentration on cinema, choosing scripts and only acting in films, not participating in game shows like many artists. Which compliment do you like more?
- I have my own path. I thank the audience for their opinions and observations of my film journey. It doesn't mean that in the long run I won't participate in game shows, it's just that at the moment, I'm focusing on cinema. Accepting the invitation is also a fate, I hope that one day I can confidently participate in game shows and show other aspects of myself.
There is a lot of information about Kaity Nguyen, she is from a rich family, a rich kid with good grades... Can you confirm this information once?
- I think those opinions depend on each person's standards. I'm a rich kid, but "rich" emotionally, in terms of my parents' love for me, I grew up in a very good environment. Having a silver spoon in my mouth is also true, because my parents always want to give their children the best.
Of course, my wealth and living conditions will be different and not equal to other families. But when I think back, I feel lucky because my family has given me a life that is complete to me, so that I can grow up and feel warm and fulfilled.
Thanks Kaity Nguyen for the chat!
