Kang Dong Won said that transforming into an idol in a new movie makes him understand more about the pressure of Kpop stars and respect them even more.

Wild sing" (tentatively translated: Wild Melody) is a musical comedy revolving around the Triangle band - once famous but forgotten after an event. Many years later, the members decided to reunite to return to the stage.

In the movie, Kang Dong Won plays Hyun Woo - the leader and "dance machine" of Triangle. Sharing about the process of preparing for the role, the actor said that this experience changed his perspective on the lives of idols.

“Previously, every time I looked at idols, I always thought their lives must be very difficult. But after directly experiencing this filming process, I really respect them even more” - he said.

The actor also said that he originally loved comedy, so he was attracted from the moment he read the script. "Comedy is my favorite genre. The script is very funny, but what I especially like is that the film has a complete ending instead of an open ending.

According to Kang Dong Won, the factor that makes the project attractive also lies in the combination of the characters and their emotional journey throughout the story.

In addition to Kang Dong Won, the film also features Um Tae Goo, Park Ji Hyun and Oh Jung Se. At the project introduction, the cast also mentioned the artists they wanted to perform the dance challenge with. With Kang Dong Won, he felt honored to work with any idol, and mentioned BTS as the name that first appeared in his mind.

The actor also left open the possibility of Triangle performing on the music stage if the movie is successful. However, he jokingly said that standing on stage as a singer could be "disrespectful" to real idols because he himself has not reached that level. "It's been more than a year since filming, so I don't even remember the choreography clearly.

Wild sing" is produced by the crew behind the hit movie "Extreme Job" which reached more than 16 million views in Korea. The work is expected to combine humor with nostalgic colors about the music industry and early idol groups.

The film is scheduled to premiere in Korea from June 3.
