The exhibition takes place from May 8th to 25th, displaying 300 photos and documents about the heroic historical tradition of the resilient port city, outstanding and sustainable achievements of Hai Phong on the 71-year journey, from the day of complete liberation to now.
In the heroic spirit of the days of takeover and liberation, our army and people wrote brilliant pages of history: From the liberation of Hai Duong province (October 30, 1954) to the glorious milestone on the morning of May 13, 1955, when the last French expeditionary soldiers withdrew from Hai Phong.
That pride is further multiplied when the city always receives special attention from beloved President Ho Chi Minh. During his lifetime, Uncle Ho visited Hai Phong 9 times and 5 times to visit and encourage the army and people of Hai Duong.

With a GRDP growth rate of 11.81% (ranked 2nd nationwide), economic scale exceeding 29 billion USD, budget revenue reaching more than 187,000 billion VND in 2025,... Hai Phong not only affirms its leading growth pole position in the North but is also a bright spot in the harmony between economic development and cultural identity preservation and social security.
The exhibition "Land and People of Hai Phong through 71 years of construction and development" is an opportunity to show gratitude to the past, be proud of the present and affirm the aspiration to reach out to the big sea. This is also a message affirming the city's willingness and commitment to cooperate and accompany friends and domestic and foreign investors, joining hands to build a dynamic, modern, and sustainably developed Hai Phong.
This is also one of the activities to celebrate the 71st anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day, responding to the Red Flamboyant Flower Festival - Hai Phong 2026.
