Borders in the fight against corruption and public service ethics

Thuận An |

The line between good and bad is very fragile, sometimes a choice in a moment. But if we choose wrongly, everything will be lost.

That is the saying of the character Chairman of the province Nguyen Van Thuy (Meritorious Artist Pham Cuong) in the series "Rank" currently showing on VTV1 during prime time.

Border" is a political film by the Vietnam Television Film Production Center (VFC), continuing the success of works such as "Sinh Tu" and "Duat Tri". The film is not just a simple entertainment work but also a realistic picture of the uncompromising struggle against corruption, group interests and the degeneration of power in the State apparatus.

With dramatic content and sharp realism reflection, "Lan ranh" has created a space for viewers to reflect on public service ethics, social responsibility and faith in justice.

Overcoming the "ordered" state film shirt

After "Sinh Tu", "Lan ranh" is VFC's next film, in collaboration with the Supreme People's Procuracy. Although it has professional and industry elements that easily evoke propaganda, "Lan ranh" goes beyond the stereotype of political films. The film reflects the reality that the appointment and rotation of personnel is not only an administrative procedure but also a measure of ethics, transparency and deciding the future of the system. The restructuring process not only narrows down the agency but is also a "filtering" of qualities and will.

The film is set in Viet Dong province, which is undergoing a merger process with changes in the leadership apparatus.

The main characters, from Secretary Tran Son (People's Artist Trong Trinh), Provincial Chairman Nguyen Van Thuy (People's Artist Pham Cuong) or Deputy Secretary Le Dinh Sach (People's Artist Trung Anh)... all face the choice between compromising with underground forces or standing firm to protect justice. These are situations that every Vietnamese citizen can see in reality.

The Line" not only tells the story of a war between opposing forces, but also clarifies that every decision, whether small or large, can bring people out of or closer to the limits of decency and strictness. For example, the discovery of violations in the Trinh Tam apartment project, although the first step in the fight against corruption, but leading to conspiracies to conceal and manipulate power, is a clear proof of the fragile line between justice and personal interests.

Belief in justice and public service responsibility

It is a political film, but the film's dien bien and character psychology are very lifelike. The line does not rush into the issue of clearly distinguishing good from evil, right from wrong. True to the film's name. The characters all stand before the fragile line of good - bad, of kindness, strictness and obscurity, self-interest.

One of the particularly notable figures is Bui Hang Thu (played by Hong Diem) - Deputy Director of the Provincial People's Procuracy - who directly supervises cases related to corruption in the Trinh Tam apartment project. However, during the investigation, she realized the painful truth that, from the smallest employees to those with great power, they could all get caught up in legal trouble. This situation not only highlights the nature of the work of prosecutors, but also emphasizes the importance of perseverance in justice.

The line" is not only a struggle against corruption, but also a journey to affirm the social responsibility of each individual in public service. Despite pressure from underground forces, the character Bui Hang Thu and her colleagues are still determined to find the truth, regardless of dangers and difficulties. It is from these correct decisions that trust in justice is re-established in a society full of obscurity and degeneration.

In the film, there is a line from Secretary Tran Son: "Being an official is not to enjoy, but to contribute to the country. But if we are not strong enough to face violations, then we ourselves will be the ones who harm this country." This is like a wake-up call, a lesson for the current contingent of officials.

The good thing about "Rank" is that in each character, viewers feel that they have a part in it; each character is like seeing somewhere in real life, especially in the fight against corruption and negativity that is very fierce, being agreed upon and supported by the people.

The movie "Borders" wants to convey a message about public service ethics. The work of streamlining the apparatus in Viet Dong province is not only an administrative issue but also a challenge to the personality and dignity of officials. The violations in the Trinh Tam apartment project and acts of covering up and abusing positions have raised questions about the transparency and responsibility of those in power. Each official, whether large or small, must face a challenge of ethics and personality.

The film affirms that the fight against corruption is a war without forbidden zones, regardless of whether the leaders or those in power.
