On the morning of August 20, 2026 in Hanoi, the Department of Cinema - Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism signed a memorandum of understanding with GLOEX Global Exhibition and Conference Joint Stock Company on coordinating the organization of the Vietnamese film and digital content market, specifically VFM/TELEFILM Market (Vietnam Film & Television Market – VFM/TELEFILM Market) associated with the Hanoi International Film Festival (HANIFF).
Mr. Wong Chiang Tat, Chairman of the Board of Directors of GLOEX, said that VFM/TELEFILM Market will be a place to connect Vietnam with the world.
The official film market of the Hanoi International Film Festival (HANIFF 2026) will gather about 200 booths of many companies as well as welcome leading Asian content producers in Japan, Korea, China... and around the world.
Mr. Dang Tran Cuong, Director of the Vietnam Cinema Department and Mr. Wong Chiang Tat signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation, with the aim of contributing to building HANIFF into an international film festival with a professional film market according to international practices; promoting investment connection, production cooperation, distribution, promotion and film copyright transactions.
The two sides coordinate to build and develop VFM/TELEFILM Market within the framework of HANIFF, thereby connecting film organizations, businesses, digital platforms, investment funds and international partners.
In addition, the two sides will coordinate to organize seminars, forums, pitching, B2B, screenings, project introductions and film promotion activities, and coordinate communication and promotion of HANIFF and VFM/TELEFILM Market images.
With this plan, the Hanoi International Film Festival will contribute to implementing the policy of developing the cultural industry, enhancing the position of Vietnamese cinema and strengthening international cooperation.
Mr. Ta Quang Dong - Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism emphasized that this cooperation will expand and supplement the Hanoi International Film Festival 2026 to become more special, more global, and expand the film market.
Hanoi International Film Festival will take place in November.
