The film Walking on thin ice (Vietnamese title: Eun Soos healthy day) tells the story of Kang Eun Soo (Lee Young Ae) - a housewife with a peaceful life and Lee Kyung (Kim Young Kwang) - a double-faced person, both a art teacher of Soo Ah (Kim Si Ah) - Eun Soos daughter and a drug trafficker at a bar.
After one night, Eun Soo's life suddenly changes as her husband's illness becomes serious, and the family goes bankrupt. After that, she accidentally finds a mysterious bag, has a surprise meeting with her daughter's art teacher and is caught up in a drug case. To protect his family, Eun Soo goes through many events, facing good and evil choices.
The movie Eun Soos Good Day released last weekend with average ratings, reaching 4% and 3.3%, respectively. This achievement is not too surprising when the work has to compete with strong competitors such as "The War of Attrition", "Bo Hong", "Thoi vang Son"... However, contrary to the low opening rate, the work received positive reactions from the audience and the media.
Hankook Ilbo (Korea) assessed that Eun Soos Good Day has a fast-paced development, with in-depth content, focusing on Eun Soos psychological developments. On screen, Lee Young Ae proved his ability to act, impressively recreating the image of a woman torn between survival and morality.
In addition, the actress also showed her efforts when showing action scenes. She said that Eun Soo's emotional depth was expressed through the character's actions.
Sharing more about Eun Soos Good Day, Lee Young Ae emphasized that this project does not only stop at entertainment but also opens up opportunities for the audience to reflect on social issues. The film not only mentioned drugs, but also reminded us of precious values in life. Through that, I want to remind everyone about the things we sometimes forget.
Meanwhile, director Song Hyun Wook said that the film has a rather sensitive theme, so instead of telling the story in a thrilling way, he wants to express the insecurity and shock that the characters feel when facing a strange world.
