"The White Tuyet" is one of Disney's big investment blockbusters since the beginning of the year with a budget of up to 270 million USD.
The film will be released in Vietnamese theaters from March 21. As of the afternoon of March 25, the project has only earned more than 6 billion VND - a figure far below expectations.
The film "Nu Bach Tuyet" has a lower revenue at the Vietnamese box office than previously released films such as "Ho chet" and " Quy nhap trang".
The film "The New Year" currently has a global opening revenue of only 87 million USD. According to Variety, the film at the North American box office on the weekend of March 21-23, only earned 43 million USD, this figure is lower than the experts' expectations.

Right from the time Disney announced the project, "Sister White Tuyet" has encountered a wave of fierce controversy. The film's trailer on YouTube received more than one million dislike points - a huge number that shows strong opposition from global audiences.
The first reason comes from the choice of actress Rachel Zegler as the role of princess Bach Tuyet. In the original fairy tale of the Grimm brothers, Bach Tuyet is described as having "white skin like snow", but Rachel Zegler, a Latin actress, does not meet this criterion.
Many viewers believe that Disney is intentionally changing the original in an unnecessary way, leading to damage to the character's iconic image.
The decision to recreate the 7 earthworms using CGI technology (computing simulation images) also disappointed fans. Disney claimed that this was to avoid controversy over the image of the middlers in the film, but the audience thought it was an unreasonable change, causing the film to lose its inherent characteristics of the story.
Despite having beautiful images and invested music, "Nha Bach Tuyet" was still criticized for its content. The film is considered lacking in depth, the script is bland, the plot is forced and unlogical. A big controversy is that the film does not maintain the original spirit of the fairy tale.
In the original, Bai Xue was a fair, gentle and tolerant princess. However, the new version builds this character in a stronger, more independent direction, and is even somewhat too modern compared to the story setting.
In particular, the love line between Bai Xue and the prince was almost eliminated, causing the film to lose an important factor that made the original version attractive.
